Podscribe uses the latest in AI advances (GPT4 from OpenAI) to give content ratings to podcasts, based on the the GARM framework.
For each category score, Podscribe will also include a reason for this score, and examples:
Podscribe does this by:
- transcribing episodes of a show
- Scoring each individual episode
- Aggregating all the episode scores of a show into overall show category ratings, and one general show score

Search any show in the header, and view the rating on its Content Rating tab, eg:

Filtering across all shows
From the Discover Shows page, any publisher’s page, or the similar shows page for any show, open Filters and adjust the Risk allowed section:
This will lets you filter a list of shows by excluding shows by overall risk level (eg exclude shows with overall risk High and above), or just by category (eg exclude all shows with High risk in Political and Controversial Topics, while still allowing High risk in Profanity).

Why is the overall show score greater than any category score of the show?
Podscribe assigns a show category score and an overall score based on the percentage likelihood of being at a certain risk level.
For example, Podscribe assigns medium Profanity risk to a show if over 10% of the show’s episodes are Medium risk in Profanity. And Podscribe assigns a medium overall risk to the show if > 10% of its episodes are medium in any category.
This can lead to a situation where no individual category is Medium risk because no category alone has > 10% exceeding medium. However, if different episodes are Medium risk in different categories, it is possible that > 10% of episodes in any category are Medium risk, causing an overall medium rating for the show.
10% is not the exact threshold but is used for illustration.
What are the thresholds for scoring a show as low medium, high risk etc? What are the thresholds?
Floor: A category gets the maximum rating if 2% of the content is rated as "floor".
High: If 25% of the content is rated as "high" and there is no "floor", the category becomes "high".
Medium: The rating "medium" is assigned if 30% of the content is "medium" or 10% is "high", in the absence of "floor" and "high".
Low: A category is considered "low" if 1% of the content has a "low" rating and there are no higher ratings.
Minimum: "Minimum" if 1% of the content is rated this way and there are no other ratings.
The overall rating of the show is the sum of the ratings of all categories calculated according to the same principles.
